The Great Pumpkin

With rye whiskey, pumpkin ale, maple syrup, and apple brandy, the Great Pumpkin is the perfect fall cocktail.

Equipment

  • 1 Cocktail Shaker
  • 1 Cocktail Glass (chilled)

Ingredients

  • 2 ounce Pumpkin Ale
  • 1 ounce Apple Brandy (Laird's)
  • 1 ounce Rye Whiskey
  • ½ ounce Maple Syrup
  • 1 Whole Egg
  • Grated Nutmeg

Instructions

  • To an empty cocktail shaker, add 2 ounces of Pumpkin Ale, 1 ounce of Apple Brandy (like Laird's), 1 ounce of Rye Whiskey, ½ ounce of maple syrup, and 1 whole egg.
  • Dry shake the contents until slightly frothy.
  • Add ice and then shake until well chilled.
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with fresh ground nutmeg.

Notes

Not feeling raw eggs? If whole eggs aren’t your thing, but you’re still dying for that frothy texture, try using aquafaba instead. Aquafaba is the juice from cooked chickpeas or the liquid gold found inside a can of chickpeas. Simply dry shake the aquafaba until it’s whipped up and resembles frothed egg whites.
