Vieux Carré
Few cocktails are as romantic as the Vieux Carré - A French inspired rye whiskey cocktail.
Equipment
- 1 Mixing Glass
- 1 Bar Spoon
- 1 Hawthorne Strainer
- 1 Rocks Glass
Ingredients
- ¾ ounce Rye Whiskey
- ¾ ounce Cognac
- ¾ ounce Sweet Vermouth
- ½ ounce Bénédictine
- 4 dashes Angostura Bitters
- 1 twist Orange (garnish)
Instructions
- To a mixing glass filled with ice, add ¾ ounce of Rye Whiskey, ¾ ounce Cognac, ½ ounce Bénédictine, and 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters.
- Stir all of the ingredients until well chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
